I've seen something similar between Bickley & Bromley South; from memory there were 2 lights side-by-side, facing the direction of oncoming trains; said lights were each enclosed in a black case at about the same height on the post as a running signal head would be and the lenses were about the same size as those used on ground signals or calling-on heads.
That's the one I'm talking about, though I thought it was suspended from the underside of a bridge. But it's been a while since I've been that way.
Think there might also have been a speed limit sign below with an orange border, of the sort shaped like a "Give Way" road sign,
Advance warning of a permanent speed restriction.
I don't remember that being there but, again, I could easily be wrong.
