That's fine Ronnie, although I had thought of the/Calvert/ page as
temporary one. It is a rather disjointed set of images with very
little obvious connection between Verney, Calvert and Ashendon.
Some of the pictures were taken specifically for a slide show, others
(Calvert) I already had and used in the show. The show is 'From
Watkin to Prescott' and was compiled from the point of view of a
Gerrards Cross resident. It includes images from much further north
on the present GCR - e.g. Rothley - together with some from Grendon
Underwood, Ashendon, Calvert and the Joint Line, Verney Junction
comes into the story because of the Aylesbury and Buckingham Railway's
route to Aylesbury and its takeover by the Met, hence the meeting of
GCR and Met at Quainton, so the Verney interest is in the Met line,
not really the LNWR.
It has no mention of Claydon Junction which was not significant to the
story, but I took some pictures just the same.
Among the other GCR anniversaries, April this year sees the centenary
of the opening of Gerrards Station to passengers (and other stations
of course) so there is quite a big effort going on here (GX).
As to the /Calvert/ page, I intend to keep a watch on the number of
visitors, and when it tails off I will probably remove it - maybe
leave a tiny page to respond to any links that come through.
BTW, have you ever looked at www.meadwaypark.co.uk/Collapse ?
A much more focussed set of pages, but still not a typical website,
