What do you mean soon be monitored? They already are. Your mobile can
be tracked to a particular area/cell, someone monitors our emails
through filters for specific words, ISPs track which sites we visit,
and when I withdraw money people know. As for car useage monitoring, we
already have that with the Congestion Charge. But I will seriously
object to my car movements being tracked by GPS in the future.

Why do you think that the Asian community works mainly in cash ? It
cant be traced. While you may not care who knows what, some of us do,
and we also have the right to object. And yes, it is extreme to
emigrate, but maybe those that have gone are just sick to death of the
nanny state sticking it nose in. Why do you always try an justifiy
something as being in our best interests?

As I said you cant fart without someone knowing, and I find the
developments to protect the majority from a minority all the more
worrying. One could argue that even had we had tougher immigration
controls 5-10 years ago, it still would not have stopped the home grown
fanatic. Also how can yo tell a Japanese tourist he cant take a picture
of the London Eye or Buckingham Palace as it could risk security. It's
utter nonsense - but it is happening. These restrictions are called the
thin end of the wedge.

As I understand it you work for First, so do you readily accept
everything the company want to do without debate or discussion as to
the rights or wrongs, or that there may be a better way of doing it?

But as I am nearly 50 and enjoyed considerable freedom in where I go,
what I do, the fact that 'controls' could restrict that is an affront
to my Human Rights, and it is the balance between state security and
human rights that this Government seems unable to grasp.

We all stand in danger of becoming a manipulated society, being told
what we can and cant do. I dont hear wails of protest from the French,
Germans, Spanish (who have had the Eta terrorism) and other residents
about them being stopped & searched. Why? Because it does not happen -
certainly not on the scale we have here, and for example Germany has
loads of Turkish workers who are probably Moslems. They dont seem to
have caught the paranoia - well not when I was there last.

And finally, I apologise unreservedly for casusing offence with my
remark about the Germans.
