I have a small 10V 1.2mA plug in the wall power supply that came off an old
electric pencil sharpener.
The Volts from it is closer to 14.5 Volts when metered. I want to use it to
power my SGC-230 but in the instructions it says that the power supply must
be clean. I don't have any test equipment apart from a multimeter.
Is there a way to tell if the power supply is going to be clean enough?
Since the thing produces 14.5V off load and apparently 10V on load
(1.2mA, ITYM 1.2A) that implies it has poor load regulation and so any
variation in current drawn translates directly into noise on its output.
