I am pleased to be able to report that the French have finally learnt
how to cook proper food.

I have just returned from Versailles, where I had an excellent meal
comprising Oignons Pakora, Poulet Vindaloo, Riz Pulau and Mumbai Aloo,
washed down with lashings of Kingfisher, and followed by a Coupe
Colonel.

Not sure that the Coupe Colonel was traditional English faire, but it
made a change from the usual non-alcoholic sorbet.

In case you're passing, it's the Golden Bengal in rue des Etats
Generaux.
