It reminds me of someone that I used to work with who required a thin
membrane for some acoustic project or other. He went to the chemists and
purchased several types of condom. The assistant became rather perturbed
when he proceeded to open them and start measuring their thickness with a
micrometer!!
She thought that he was very fussy!!
(true story by the way).
