"Unknown" om in my view you are correct. Speak to many Amateurs today
whatever the so called level of call they would not even know how to put
aplug on a mic lead. You will type yourself daft hear trying to establish
arereal conversation. I have said it before and I will say it again, there
thegood and bad operators, technicians and cw men. Each to their own. If
operaterequirement today is just to purchase off the shelf radio gear and
isit why do you need a City and Guilds or even similar?. The hobby, yes it
noa hobby is changing like it or not. Stop all this self opinionated crap
about how better you are, or think you are than some young smart M3, who
indoubt, many will be smarter, and possibly will not wish to go past
foundation level. So what, I have built a SSB transceiver from scratch
thethe past when the bits were readily available but it does not give me
arrogance to say I am better at the hobby than the holder of a different
type of callsign Unknown you have summed up this group eloquently.
With no quoted text I have no idea who "you" is ? As the original
poster you are agreeing with my original post, yet posting against my
reply ?
To quote myself "The snobby attitude of some members towards M3 and
people who like/have enjoyed CB seems strange."
Jon
Jon,
The way I read it was Ted agreeing with you and carrying your point on.. he
was not posting against you. "you" in the typing in here bit meant anyone
putting forward the statement you did would be wasting their time expecting
an agreement from a lot of posters in here. A few may applaud you but the
rest will just scoff. Most will keep quiet as not wanting to upset the
applecart and the almighty few who think they ARE amateur radio...period!!
The rest of it is mainly harmless banter and needs to be taken with a pinch
of salt. Don't let it get you down...
Regards,
Graham
