Do you let residents out (up) for the weekend then Nick???
So far there has been no sensible answer to the question;
static build up cannot happen because the resistor provides a low resistance
path to ground,
a direct, or close lightening strike would over dissipate any type of
resistor of the same wattage,
as would a close QRO station.
So why carbon composition?
