back in 1973 (1972 or 1973 or 1974 ) there was **NO** blue channel.
No. It certainly did happen. It was the early 90s. Yes, it wasn't actually joining the EU (EC was a slip of the finger - I still call Radcom 'The Bull'). It certainly wasn't that long ago that customs controls stopped, and the blue channel started. I'm sure that it was on Jan the first. Please advise me which year it was.
