Not trying to interrupt the subject of this thread, Maria, but do you
really feel Islam has "radicalized"?

Comparatively, yes - i.e. in places, there is a fairly recent emergence of extremists who want an Islamic state at all costs, and will kill as many other Muslims as necessary to achieve that, in places not formerly known as being strongly Islamic - it's spreading right out because Muslims have spread right out.
