From today, drivers in Samoa will steer their cars to the

How long might it be before Brussels decrees that we in Britain
must
drive on the RHS? Do they in fact have that power? Could anything
do
more to stimulate sales of new cars?
Sweden changed from driving on the left to driving on the right. I
think that all traffic was off the road for one hour before and
after
midnight on the day.
That's right!
However it's not as simple as that!
99+% of vehicles would have their steering wheels on the inappropriate
side.
All traffic signs would need to be turned and relocated to the other
side of roads.
Many road junctions (incl most major ones) would need to be re-
engineered.
Buses would have their exit doors on the wrong side.
Road markings would need to be obliterated and re-done.
Traffic lights on dual carriageways would face the wrong way.
Not only would all these modifications be horrendously expensive I
doubt whether they could all be carried out in two days let alone two
hours.
Can't see it ever happening in such a traffic clogged country as ours
is.......If it does I will pack up driving for at least a year.
'BBC News Online' has this morning put up an article "Could the UK drive
on the right?"
