The prime minister said 2008 would be remembered as the year in which "the
old era of unbridled free market dogma was finally ushered out".

and the marxist peeps out from behind the mask....

You are Joseph McCarthy, AICMFP. :)

Well, dunno about abelard and McCarthy, but I sure see Brown
trying to adopt policies of seizing control of the free markets
for political purposes. That will surely destroy western wealth.

The risks of allowing a k00k like him to do it are huge.

Think about it...a state apparatchik on every BoD dictating
corporate R&D, manufacturing and distribution policies.
One sure thing is the proposals for web site ratings are not that at
all but a cloak for the control of freedom of speech on the internet.
What will happen is that they will try to make ISP's responsible for
the content of web sites they host. If they manage to do that ISPs
will become wary about hosting anything controversial. It will not
just be age ratings for web sites.

The State already has substantial control over TV/Radio
broadcasting, especially the BBC which is little more than a
mouthpiece for propaganda.

The debate that is going on at the
moment concerns the date of an election - Gordon believes that the
economy will be coming out of recession towards the end of this year.
He could not forecast when it was going into recession so I doubt very
much he will be able to forecast when it is coming out of recession.
It may be that we will be saved by his economic incompetence. It just
may be that this strategy will fail and we will see the back of him.

Hopefully...
Brown's problem is that his socialist dogma blinds him to what
free markets are and how they operate. They certainly aren't
perfect but that's what oversight and regulation is for. Too bad
that he wiped it away 10 years ago by introducing the toothless
FSA run by a NewLab crony.

The BBC has been subverted. What has happened is that is instead of
crude spin you have a new technique that ensuring that news bulletins
etc are packed with government spokesman and those sympathetic to the
cause. It means that debateable matters become accepted as facts
without any effective intellectual response. The words credit crunch
are just the semantic manipulation of the truth. Credit crunch an
invented term has no meaning - it was an invented term to which an
invented meaning could be attached and it was. No mention was made of
the money supply being out of control etc - it was as though money had
simply vanished as an act of god and The Treasury, FSA, The Bank of
England had nothing at all to do with the problem and if fact using
the meaningless term credit crunch they could then move on to saving
us from it. That's what they are doing now with a variety of quack
remedies ably assisted by the BBC.

Spot on.

The latest govt press statement is accepted as fact and all news
and debate is moulded around it to Brainwash the masses.
Nobody dares ask the questions.

most don't have the knowledge to ask meaningful questions...
and socialist 'education' is designed to keep it that way...
