Classic English behaviour overseas. I just had a scout around to see how much Hindi or Bengali the British tended to learn in India - not much, it appears from a superficial search.

I think it's classic behaviour of foreigners everywhere. I dislike it when people come here and do it, so it's only reasonable to dislike it when people here go elsewhere and do the same.
