Hawking Radiation is purely theoretical. The LHC boffins safety report
even admits this but glosses over the fact because the Physics
community broadly supports the theory.

Black Holes are purely theoretical as well. Nobody has observed one,
just deduced a presence based on stellar density and theory.

yes, quite, which is why I said its not proved to exist yet *either*...

has hawking not yet even provided his mathematical proof of black
holes, I only noticed that this proof was still awaited in 2005, not
seen anywhere that says he has provided it yet?

I liked the comment that said if it was called "homer simpson
radiation" physicists might be bricking themselves....

Here's my prediction for the LCH - no new physics ie no BHs, no new
particles, except possibly the Higgs.

What about the Standard Model? Do you think that is correct?

It cannot be totally correct, but nobody knows where it will break down.
Hence all the speculation about BHs

i think the theory leads to...this is powerful enough to either
find evidence for the higgs field theory/boson...or make it very
unlikely
i think that is the prime rationale behind it....

I hope I'm wrong.

Why? (apart from the total waste of billions of Euros?!)

It would be interesting.
