The ancient battles of Britain were not with horse, cannon or gun. They
were small bands of man of a very young age. To rank them higher than a
lot of pushing and shoving would be wearing romantic rosey specks.

cannons and cavalry everywhere... last battle with Scots... muskets and
bayonets.

to not give the people forced into the battles any more credit than
