Pv's need very pure silicon, and it takes _a lot_ of energy to
make pure silicon: so much in fact that it's questionable
if a pv produces more energy than was used to make it.
The energy payback time quoted by Nanosolar is one month.
They don't use silicon.

You do realise that most of these organisations are just marketing companies, selling a sales pitch.

Good sales pitch.
They have several factories, several hundred million $ investment, and have presold $150m of production.

Of course, they could be lying and are really 2x as expensive as they claim, putting them on a par with the competition. IIRC the biggest manufacturer is Chinese, currently churning out 400MW per year of PV and intending to push that to 1GW quite soon. That's like one nuclear power station per year capacity.
