Anyone who has a dispute with another person is free to settle the matter without using the UK civil courts. And anyone who has ever watched shows like 'Judge Judy' knows that not only here but elsewhere, people are free to settle matters using other forms of dispute resolution if they so choose.

So, if people who worship in the Muslim faith choose to settle their disputes via sharia courts, they are free to do so.

The 'indigenous population' (whoever they might be) are in no way inconvenienced.

This may be seen by some as a small step which the "indiginous" population could live with but who seriously believes that is as far as it would eventually go?
I am all for goodwill and understanding between cultural groups but even those willing to go along with this idea must surely realise that (good thing or otherwise) if muslims are given an inch they will take the lot!
