Or are you trying to present the fact they have the right to authorise
someone else to do the tap and receive the data as though councils
don't have the right to tap your phone..... which may be strictly
accurate as they dont have the power to set up their own physical taps,
but seems a misrepresentation to make the statement you did.

Its worse that they have to authorise some agency who then have the
right to sell on any data they gain.

Local Councils do not have the power to tap phones, or the authority to
instruct others to do so on their behalf, under *any* circumstances.

Is that clear enough?

I mean I'd like to think we lived in a society that prevented all and
sundry checking out the number of underpants you bought from marks and
spencers, your latest tesco shopping receipt or the phone call you may
have made to the "erotic" fat women on a couch masquerading as fantasy
vixens extortion line....

but I don't think we do, the dp act is a red herring that prevents you
getting data of incidents involving you from cctv private companies who
can sell on the data.... and allows various companies/organisations to
claim they don't have to give you pertinent data about transactions
relating to you....
