Staff at Northern Rock have been handed bumper pay rises and a £200
Christmas bonus, even though the bank owes the taxpayer almost
£30billion.
I am not sure if £200 could be considered 'bumper', it is quite common to
give staff a bonus, in many organisations the Bonus is part of the salary
calculation, and is reflected to the performance of the company, in the US
the Christmas Bonus is often between 5 and 10% of your salary, again
depending on how your company is doing.
Of course, in the case of Northern Rock, the majority of the employees are
likely to be unemployed by feb.
