The useless home sec. Jackaaaay said that we have even more terror

"
Britain faces the serious threat of a "dirty bomb" terror attack,
the
Home Secretary has warned.

In an exclusive interview for Sky News on her department's efforts
to
counter the terrorist threat, Jacqui Smith said intelligence
analysts
believed the number of plots was likely to grow in the months
ahead.

With our open borders, anyone can bring that material in unnoticed
from Hungary or Slovakia.

Why should we believe what the Home Secretary is saying here?

Leap of faith I guess, like that required for most terrorist
publicity
they release to the media.

I think you've put your finger on it.

We are invited to place our faith in the Home Secretary, not to have
the
proof of what she says.

This is the same as being asked to accept the existence of God.

Therefore this so-called 'war on terror' is nothing more nor less than
a
religious war.

Jackaay says "over the last year or so the threat has been growing... We
are
talking about the use potentially of dirty bombs and other things

In that case, I'm in favour.

Not carbonara though - it wil get stuck in my hair.

.and that
is why it is something that we need to take seriously."

In light of the fact that traffickers were arrested this week carrying
the
wherewithal to make a dirty bomb, what level of proof would you need
that
Jackaay's claim is accurate?

They were caught in Slovakia/ Hungary with material from the FSU - how
does that indicate we will probably be attacked by a dirty bomb around
Christmas time?

Did she say this?

The Mail and The Guardian at least are saying it but not quoting her.

Part of the interview is on video on the Sky site.

As you can guess, I'm taking issue with the adding of extra bits to what she
said. Having watched that part of the video, I think what she says is
reasonable. The idea that the threat is increasing isn't implausible.
Suggesting it's all a big distraction from the government's present troubles
seems like having one's cake and eating it...

Apparently she said we must be vigilant over the Christmas period.

Most of the articles reporting her are full of the usual vague,
non-specific stuff that usually emanates from the home office.
