The useless home sec. Jackaaaay said that we have even more terror

Britain faces the serious threat of a "dirty bomb" terror attack,
the
Home Secretary has warned.
In an exclusive interview for Sky News on her department's efforts
to
counter the terrorist threat, Jacqui Smith said intelligence
analysts
believed the number of plots was likely to grow in the months ahead.
"
With our open borders, anyone can bring that material in unnoticed
from Hungary or Slovakia.
Why should we believe what the Home Secretary is saying here?
Leap of faith I guess, like that required for most terrorist publicity
they release to the media.
I think you've put your finger on it.
We are invited to place our faith in the Home Secretary, not to have
the
proof of what she says.
This is the same as being asked to accept the existence of God.
Therefore this so-called 'war on terror' is nothing more nor less than
a
religious war.
Jackaay says "over the last year or so the threat has been growing... We
are talking about the use potentially of dirty bombs and other things
and that is why it is something that we need to take seriously."
In light of the fact that traffickers were arrested this week carrying
the wherewithal to make a dirty bomb, what level of proof would you need
that Jackaay's claim is accurate?
They had uranium. Uranium is generally useless for use in a dirty bomb,
AFAIK.
They found it in powdered form. There is loads of the stuff available in
Iraq.
The devil is in the detail.
The Slovak police say it was enriched uranium from the Soviet Union and
could have been used in a dirty bomb. What do you mean by "useless"?
Why do you have faith that the Slovak police are being accurate?
I was wrong about it being useless. Dirty bombs (even the threat of dirty
bombs) are effective at making people afraid, but ineffective at harming
people.
This is another instance where the interests of terrorists and government
coincide.
