Which is why London and Kent are witnessing a mass influx of French
companies who are taking advantage of the relative "can-do" work ethic of
the English.

Not exactly.

The French are moving in because it's easier to do business here.

You can set up a company in 24 hours and be trading the next day.

In France it'll take at least two months and you have to convince the local
mayor and commune that you're a fit and proper person to pay them bribes.

But as there's nothing to stop a UK company doing business in France many
French start-up companies happen to be UK registered.

The people concerned do business in France, live in France and work in
France, have a 'brass plate' on a door somewhere in Kent and pay as little
tax as their expensive accountants can arrange.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.
