Not too long ago I bought an OEM version of Vista Premium. It was

The terms of use agreement places no limit on the number of times I
may activate the package *on this machine* Looking into it those
highlighted words are interpreted by Microsoft in terms that the
changing of a disc drive is acceptable but the changing of a
motherboard is deemed a different machine.
Presumably the activation of the package (which must be done within 30
days) involves the transfer of motherboard details including serial
number? to Microsoft.
In view of this I have difficulty in comprehending your problem.
You would cos you sound like a sweet. Melanie Rowntrees mmm yummy.
Hang on, I chewed.
I too have formated and had the thing work many times.
However it was the hard drive, plus a graphy upgrade that it choked
on last time. The doodlebug they gave me seemed to be a one
shot deal. It's a pain. Stop eating of my pain. It's not my fault.
