That's possibly incorrect. If the programming error is real and could be
attributed to the Y2K bug then all corresponding global temperature
calculations would be affected. If they have released corrected data
for the US only that still does not mean that such correction is not
possible or not available for the world as a whole. I have not really
followed any of the provided links so I'll refrain from suggesting
a possible reason why that was the case.
