Top Global Warming Advocate: Jupiter & Saturn Closer To Sun Than Earth

Live Earth kingpin dismantles his own credibility on national radio as
propaganda bandwagon is massive flop
Live Earth's half empty stadiums and lackluster TV viewing figures were
preceded by another embarrassment after one of the propaganda bandwagon's
kingpins and a top global warming advocate responded to a question about
solar-system wide climate change by claiming that Jupiter, Mars and Saturn
were closer to the sun than Earth. David Mayer de Rothschild is the youngest
child (born 1978) of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, of the British wing of the
Rothschild banking family. Rothschild's recent book, 77 Essential Skills to
Stop Climate Changes, calls for ordinary people to limit outward behavior
and even work at home and was used as part of the PR blitz to accompany the
Live Earth project.

Appearing on The Alex Jones Show this past Friday, Rothschild reacted to a
point about massive climate change at every point of the solar system and
its relation to natural sun cycles by claiming Mars, Saturn and Jupiter were
closer to the sun than Earth! Here's a brief transcript of the exchange.

ALEX JONES: "The polar icecaps of Mars are receding at several miles a year,
much faster than ours and that the moons of Saturn and Jupiter are melting,
in fact several of their moons were ice and are now liquid seas - how are
SUV's causing that David Rothschild?

as i realise you're just another fool mouthing off i'll not spend
serious effort on you...

do you suppose the sun measurements at earth are somehow
different once scaled on other planets?
do you suppose the conditions on all planets are the same?
do you suppose all planets are in the same part of their orbital
cycles?

you won't understand or follow....but some enthusiasts may wish to
look.

eg
In essence, this work analyses the total solar irradiance (TSI)
estimates by Willson & Mordvinov (2003) which is known to exhibit an
increase in the TSI at solar minimum between solar cycles 21--22 and
22--23 (the most recent solar cycles, with minima at around 1986 and
1996 respectively). Their conclusion is therefore given by this
choice. Had they used an other TSI record eg by Frolich & Lean (1998),
they would have got a very different result. The interesting aspect of
this study is that whereas the TSI is purpurted to have increased,
other solar proxies (eg cosmic rays, 10.7 cm flux, the aa-index, or
the monthly sunspot number) do not indicate any systematic change in
the level of solar activity. In their analysis they also in effect
compare the amplitudes of two series which have been band-pass
filtered in a similar way, and do not provide convincing evidence that
they really are related - there are wiggles of similar frequencies, as
expected when they have been band-pass filetered, but they do not
exhibit a convincing one-to-one correspondence (in neither phase or
amplitude), and the authors do not discuss the level of statistical
significance. -rasmus]

you are a senile old fossil abelard, talk about fossil media... you are
the archetype :)

either saturn and jupiter are closer to the sun or they are not, what
difference does it make what part of their cycle they are in, they never
come closer to the sun than earth, mars or mercury..

One can only stand in amazement and wonder at your fuckwittery.... :)

be assured...i am not prepared to chase idiots like you
down each rabbit hole you decide to dive into

Do you think you are some kind of fox or hunter chasing a rabbit abelard?

nice analogy mister rabbit....are you related to abdul...

Is "real"climate.org one of your sister sites that also spouts bull***
wrapped up in hyperbole masquerading as science like you specialise in?

Each year that MGS has been in orbit, the landforms of the south polar
residual cap have gotten smaller, and the CO2 removed from the cap has not
been re-deposited. The implication is that Mars presently has a warm (and
warming?) climate, with new carbon dioxide going into the atmosphere every
year. The other implication is that, at some time in the not-too-distant
past, the planet had a colder climate, so that the layers of CO2 could be
deposited in the first place. If one takes the rate of scarp retreat and
projects it backwards to fill in all of the pits and troughs with the
carbon dioxide that has been removed from them, one finds that the colder
climate might only have occurred a few centuries to a few tens of
thousands of years ago. This kind of time scale is not unlike that of the
climate changes that have been recorded on Earth, including the Ice Ages
and the smaller fluctuations that have occurred since the last Ice Age
(e.g., the "Little Ice Age" of the mid-14th through mid-19th centuries).

'projections' are highly speculative....
*all* projections....especially if you can't point to any established
...or even plausible.....mechanism.....
'might' is for the boids....

mars differs radically from the earth in having very little (if
any...i haven't looked) atmosphere...and therefore little
'climate' in the sense of earth of venusian climate
http://www.abelard.org/briefings/global_warming_atmospheric_chemistry_physics.php#mercury_venus

mars also has a more elliptical orbit as i very vaguely think i recall
