Some corporate cant was claiming how it (burberry) can be made better and
cheaper in china or eastern europe...
I definitely dispute their claim it will be better quality,
but cheaper perhaps.
Well, that definitely proves nothing.

'Those who still consider that Made in China means cheap and nasty haven't
been
paying attention.
All that oriental detail and quality which Hornby wanted - the anoraks love
the real-
wire piping and photo-etched con-rods (don't ask) - has done wonders for
sales.'
So... what does that prove? Does not prove it could not have been done
here... just that they could not be bothered to pay to tool up to do it
here.... they would rather invest less get more return and *** the
british worker... and employ workers under conditions in china (or
elsewhere) that would be unacceptable here
When are you going to learn?
All business is about making profit and not subsidising British
workers who are less productive than their foreign counterparts.
There's lots in it for British workers. To begin with wages can only
be met long term out of profits not losses.
Taxes can only be paid out of profits and not out of loses. Taxes out
of profits provide for both physical and social infrastructure. Go to
India and see there what passes for infrastructure. It's not because
the Indians are lazy but rather that they are so poor. You cannot tax
the poor. They've nothing to pay with.
The reason that they are so poor is that the enterprises they engage
in (still primarily subsistance agriculture) is so unprofitable making
them so unproductive denying them the means to capitalise their
businesses. A man will take all day to plough a field less than the
size of a football pitch. The whole family will take several days to
plant it.
Thank the Lord you were born in a country where capitalism rules the
day.
You more than susbsist whether you work or not.
