[OT] getting website popularity into perspective.

A small sidebar on the web page posted by Crowley the other day
(subject: "It's the end of the world as we know it") about the
forthcoming global crises attracted my attention...

Read it here:

"Thank you to you, our readers!
"On February 22nd, Newropeans-Magazine broke a new traffic record.
It was classified in 51.899th position among the first 5 millions
websites ranked worldwide by Alexa.com, subsidiary of Amazon.com.
Newropeans-Magazine got about 1 million pages viewed on that single
day. These results were obtained despite the traffic jam which made
the site very difficult to access for half a day."

Phew! 1,000,000 page hits in roughly a single half-day.

Compare that to abelard's website where his latest claim is for:
"1,552,396 document calls in year past" which equates to about
2,000 hits per half-day.

I wonder what the BBC hit level is.....
