Let me tell you a little story.

Many years ago, even before the internet, someone I know stumbled upon
a copy of the US army Improvised Munitions Manual; known as the Black
Book. This fascinating publication outlined how to make a number of
IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) from household materials. The
version of this manual dated back a few years but it was full of
interesting snippets of information and full end to end instructions on
bombmaking, trap setting etc.

Among the information were warnings of the volatility of certain
chemical combinations and instructions on how to ensure the safety of
the operative by avoiding combinations in particular quantities and
using processes that could cause the chemicals to explode and kill or
injure the operative.

More recently, this person I know, did some amature research on the
internet and compared the instructions in the black book with the
instructions on the websites. He was amazed to discover that many of
the recipes on the internet in some small detail or two, on many
occasions instructed the user to perform activities that were indicated
to be dangerous in the black book.

Of course, this person I know destroyed the manual as soon as he was
aware that it would be unlawful to possess it.

Take your own conclusions from this.

This particular episode, in addition to the fact that it took the IRA
(who were no slouches) many, many years to perfect bombmaking to the
point where it was more dangerous to the target than the perpetrator
provides the evidence in my mind that there is absolutely no doubt that
the July 7th bombers were assisted by a military or guerilla
organisation of some sort. the july 21st bombers however show all the
signs of having got it off of the internet. No doubt we will all know
in time.
