What a bullshitter you are. You write as though you were making new
points.

You seem angry. I was answering basic questions -- that you think
I was thinking I'm making new points is your problem.

You already didn't read for comprehension what I previously wrote
quite clearly -- it seems this is a recurring problem.

"There is nothing more useful than a good theory" is a hoary
old maxim in Psychology. The file drawer problem has been discussed at
length and there are specific remedies recommended for it. The APA has
had several commisions to investigate faults in the method of
significance testing. Observational studies and even regression
studies can be reliable, especially when they are replicated. You
presume that all social and behavioural science is time series in
nature (your Turkey example) but actually little psychology or biology
works that way (I think economics is mostly time series but that is
another matter). There are new techniques (e.g., multilevel modelling)
intended to help with time series type models as well. You obviously
know about zip with regard to psycholgical measurement. You don't mind
being ignorant of the literature (e.g., Argyle's book but the
literature is quite voluminous) because your claims are "sceptical".

What is the above angry drivel supposed to achieve? I know that
what I talked about is well known, after all, I quoted literature for
my claim that more than half of even recent epidemiological studies
are wrong.

I already said that I'm not a psychologist and I also
specifically pointed out that I am not making a blanket statement
about all research on happiness. There are however plenty of grounds
to question grand, society-wide conclusions that are sometimes drawn
from such studies.
