Re: Being born in the summer increases your chance of being short sighted



I looked into birth dates and hemispheres a while back. A Polish study showed types of death appeared to be related to month of birth. I looked at data from the UK and they showed a similar pattern. However data from New Zealand didn't show any pattern that I could find - even excluding Maori and Pacific Islanders as the statistician recommended.

If myopic people had a higher chance of certain forms of death there might be a weak correlation detectable in these forms, but I'd imagine you'd need vast amounts of data to detect it against the noise and all other possible causes.
