Edelman

I've just been reading a recently published book written by Gerald
Edelman -- ' Wider than the Sky'. It is available as a Penguin
paperback and summarises Edelman's views about the evolutionary origins
and physiological underpinnings of consciousness. Although intended for
the general reader, it's heavy going in places. I find the views
expressed about the neural bases of consciousness convincing. I'm not
so sure that the philosophical issues are dealt with so well.
