Initially I had the same reaction - then I recalled reading a paper
pointing out that the famous Paleolithic Venus was actually clothed,
and that the clothing on the carving was woven material. So, yes, there
aare grounds for thinking that women were doing things that perhaps
have not lasted as well as hidden away cave paintings.
