I was surprised to find the extent of antireligious feeling amongst
humanists. I feel that taking a stance against someone because they are
religious is akin to being against someone because they are black. I don't
think someone is special just because they may have some title and neither
do I assume someone is a cretin if they are religious.

I think humanists should have a reasoned approach to problems and if we can
join with people who take a similar approach it shouldn't matter too much if
they are religious, a different race, blond(e) or smell.

When we've discussed things like charity and political groups etc it seems
to have been the conclusion that humanists look to integrate rather than
form their own groups. If there is a movement against fundamentalism I think
we can join in without worrying too much.
