This is a crucial and overlooked point. Nobody believes that "we are just a bunch of molecules that accidentally came along". Nobody believes that the eye is the result of a random process. But leaving Dave aside, this is the line that creationists seem to have the most success with. So, what we need to do is constantly remind people that natural selection is a very nonrandom processes. That life does exhibit complex design and that natural selection explains exactly how a mindless, mechanistic (but non-random) process can produce the kinds of awe inspiring complexity that we do see in life.
Dave has been told this many many times. There is really no point in trying to tell it to him again.
When are you [ItISDave] going to reply to our lists of errors and inconsistencies in the Bible, then?
