Caught a few seconds of a consumer tv prog in passing.

A guy bought a fridge freezer and put it in his porch. Ten months later
everything melted. The retailer refused a refund saying the porch was
too cold.

Dunno the outcome.

I think if I was the consumer I would follow it up, providing the porch
wasn't in direct sunlight and it wasn't June, July or August.

(The fridge freezer was Hotpoint)

Something deep in my memory says hotpoint is not a marque I would buy, I
have a friend in the industry and I will ask his viewpoint.

I once bought a pair of shoes, well actually they were ankle boots, grey
leather and very comfortable. I wore them probably twice a week, max 3
times a week, and after 3 months they started to come apart at the
seams. I took them back to the shop and they said that as I had worn
them when it was wet outside, they wouldn't exchange them. I wrote to
the shop and offered them a chance to replace the boots or refund my
money, before I wrote to the press and start legal proceedings, they
coughed up. They were the most comfortable shoes/boots I have ever had.
