That's not correct, Giganews is used by BT if you look at Rowland's
headers you will see nntp.bt.com!news.bt.com.POSTED!not-for-mail in the

server followed by all the others in the path and the final one is
actually the server of the person making the post.

As much as I admire your superior intellect, I must respectfully disagree
with you. BT is Rowlikins' ISP,

Yes, his ISP is BT

but Rowlikins uses Giganews as his NNTP provider.

Yes he does use Giganews.

BT just provides the pipes for his posts.

BT provide their customers with NNTP service via Giganews as do a fair
few ISPs, because it is less costly than to run their own service and
more efficient.

Giganews doesn't put a customer's IP address in the header,

That's right they don't they also don't include headers of who your ISP
is, unless your ISP provides you with service via Giganews as BT does.

I know because I have Giganews too.

If you pay for that yourself and it is not provided by your ISP then it
is a different service to Giganews provided by the likes of BT, Nildram
and other ISPs in the UK.

When I complained to BT they wanted to know Rowlie's IP, and of course,
only Giganews knows it and they're not saying.

Have a look at the headers in Rowland's posts.

Their was no question about his ip address when I and others made
complaints to BT, they had the full headers and could see that Rowland
had used the BT network and the fact that he uses GIganews provided by
BT themselves, allowed them to act and suspend his access. As I said
they will act if it is an abuse of the net and his flood of over 30 post
that were almost identical was abuse of the net.
