True, but I do think the pendulum has swung too far in the paranoid
direction.

The problem is the idiocy of so much of the paranoia, if you ask me.

Even to the extent that people are reluctant to help a child
they see in distress because they are afraid of being done for some
heinous crime. It would certainly make me think at least twice...

It's a brave man in modern Britain who would dare have anything to do
with children aside from his own.
