I've had the misfortune to meet a few official Humanist society members, and they are amongst the most unpleasant and hypocritical moralist wankers I've ever encountered. Like the worst kind of religious zealot, but without any underlying purpose.
As the results posted here would indicate, most 'humanists' don't even know they're humanists. Assuming that everyone who shares their belief set is as you describe is like ascribing the fascist tendencies of the BNP leadership to everyone who wishes to preserve Anglo-Saxon values in our society.
That's precisely my point, Gay Nigel. 'Humanist Society' members *are* aware that they are Humanists, and go to significant and officious lengths to formalize it. God forbid you ever actually get talking to one of them about it... they are at least as bad as Jehovah's Witnesses, and probably worse. At least you can get rid of the Jehovahs with a theological paradox, or if that fails, a bit of strategic blasphemy.
Even quoting Nietzsche won't get rid of the more dedicated Humanists!
Incidentally, the most cunty Evangelical Humanist I ever encountered was also called Nigel!
