No I don't think so, they raised their young successfully and then I
believe they went to warmer places as our winter started cutting in. I
think they feed by catching insects on the wing, so of course they
would have to find a place where said insects are flying around.
(maybe they came to your locality ;o) I see your point though and
considered it, but no, I kept my observations very low key and I don't
think that part of it bothered them very much at all.

There were swallows nesting in my mum and dad's porch this year. They
didn't seem unduly bothered by the fact people were going in and out of the
front door all the time. I saw the nest at the very early stage, when it
was just built, and when we visited again, the chicks had grown pretty big.
By the end of the time we were there, they were flying around properly. The
best bit was watching them learn to fly, though it didn't take long; just
one morning.
