Every month, the lining of the uterus thickens so that a fertilized
egg will be able to implant and take nutirents from the maternal blood
supply. If implantation does not occur, the lining of the uterus is
shed in the form of menstrual blood.
So if this new Pill thingy that's coming out stops the uterus wall
from thickening in the first place, menstruation will be entirely
unncessary (since there will be nothing to lose), and any fertilized
eggs will have nowhere to find purchase in the female reproductive
tract, thus making conception all but impossible.
That's the kind of thing I meant, yeah :-)
