things on this newsgroup, orright? Yesterday, I ripped me shock off
(bike rear end; needs to go back to the firm that made it). I ended up
in a terrible state because of that. That's the sort of thing that's
going on in the background that you lot generally don't hear a thing
about.

What you read here is inflected by `real life', but isn't a direct
response to it.

You've got to remember that I pick a style of writing that I feel is
appropriate, and pick a line to take that I feel is appropriate. It's a
cold, chilly, calculating process. I do wish people would recall that I
used to write professionally and I've not completely lost the ability to
apply the techniques I learnt for getting things done (I just can't
maintain the ability, that's all).

Then I write - and that process is not always so cold and chilly.

Now, if someone should dismiss my words as `liberal hippy nonsense', I
respond in a fashion that's semi-pre-arranged: my standard policy when
faced with *** like that is to go on the attack. It's a cold, chilly
decision: I'm sick of hearning American fascist scumbags deride ideas,
people, and suchlike for being `liberal' because the USA is supposed to
be a so-called liberal democracy like the civilised world. So, I've
decided to go on the attack viciously when I meet that sort of thing.

It's just a matter of policy.

And when I'm in a bad way (note that this is for reasons unconnected to
this newsgroup), well, the rest of what I write in a post containing
such an attack is going to be just as harsh, innit?

But you'd be mistaken in thinking that I think about trivial stuff like
you sneering at me when I depart from this keyboard (well, not beyond
drinking the next cup of tea, anyway). Oh, there's upsd stuff that
*does* float around in my head, but not crap like that.
