well, because of all the complaining, she has decided that when she
grows up, she's going to open up a store and call it, "Made In The
USA." and in her store, she's only going to sell items that are made
here in the states. she did say, however, that it would NOT be open 24
hours a day. :D
she's such a little entrepreneur.
Yeah, and just the sort of person that should think about joining the
BNP if she were to move to the UK.

I think that particular remark is more than a little over the top.
Yes, it probably is. I wouldn't have been quite so vicious about it if
I hadn't been so wound up at the time.
Childish naïvity isn't quite the same as 'nationalist socialism' or
reactionary racism.
No, it's not - but when the child is brought up with those ideas,
instilled into them by their parents, and supported by the society
around them, you do end up with - well, `reactionary nationalism', of
the `one step away from being nastily racist' sort. And *that* means
you've got trouble, and if things subsequently get really bad, then you
get the full-on National Front type turning up.
I was brought up by parents (mother, mostly) who instilled me with all
sorts of stupid ideas about `other races/nations'. Not the neo-Nazi
claptrap, mind - just conventional old-fashioned English
mistrust/dislike of foreigners, I suppose. If the other parts of my
upbringing hadn't almost all acted against that tendency, I might well
have ended up like my mother in that regard myself - who knows? That
path leads you to supporting UKIP or maybe even the BNP[1]. I'm glad I
didn't end up that way - but my own experience shows me `how it works'.
There's a big problem out there and it needs opposition. Maybe I'm not
being at all effective - but I'm damned if I'm saying nothing.
Rowland.
[1] For all my mother's fascist-sounding ravings, she's got the wit to
see that both of that lot are just wrong and has always made noises
about preferring a liberal (small `l') style of government. Is she
self-contradictory? Oh yes.
