/that/ type. I've met plenty like that. Sarah's not that
sophisticated.

She takes kindness as something nice, until she's in a bad way, when she
will then attack anyone who's being nice to her or has been nice to her
to stop them being nice to her so she can complain that everyone's nasty
to her.

That's what's going on.

She's fucked up all right, but not in the way you think.

And what she needs is more kindness, not less. So what if she's nasty
in return some time later? It's all just words.
