Say whatever's on your mind, dude.

If your intentions are benign, if you are expressing an opinion that is
truly felt, who cares how badly your motives are misconstrued by a certain
individual?

All the evidence points to the undeniable conclusion that it really doesn't
matter what you say, if he chooses to interpret it as an attack or whatever,
that's exactly what he is going to do.

I would say, when dealing with someone like that, the only way to respond is
to ignore the torrent of spurious accusations and just say whatever's on
your mind. At the end of the day, the only person you have to answer to is
yourself.
