There's a difference between going to work and working. I come in late, slump into my desk, and stare at my screen all day, getting my job done mindlessly and without passion, trying to avoid all communication with real people. Especially 'her'.

If I'd never worked here, I wouldn't feel as shitty as I do now.

Point taken. But you do go in, and at least you are able to appear to work. My work was teaching, and is what sent me over the edge. There's no way you can stare at a class full of 30 children all day and live ... :-(
