Hello Alhggyb,
Yup, I can say you have all (and a few more) symptoms of depression.
When you say I have a few more, which ones do you refer to? Do you know what
disorder(s) these others might indicate?
I think I will have to show my GP the list because I am likely to become
nervous, forget why I am in at the surgery, and spew out some nonsense,
which will get me some strange looks from the doctor (I can see it already -
what a nightmare!)
Thanks,

Hello guys,
I have an auto-immune disorder, which is using guerilla warfare tactics
forbody; I believe that my illness, which I have had mildly to moderately
butmany years, is or has been having an a steady effect on my psyche. My
physical illness crept up on me very gradually over an extended period,
towas eventually diagnosed relatively early. I have always been the type
thathide any signs of mental weekness to the point where I avoid situations
muchmay expose them. If I were less sensitive perhaps I wouldn't care so
fromabout any of this... I am pretty sure I have a form of depression, but
havereading I cannot tell how severe it is or what variation it is. Also, I
and Iidentified with other mental illnesses in places. My problems are as
follows:
1) I have been feeling suicidal for some time.
2) I am always tired and I tend to sleep over 10 hours a night, often
needing a nap in the afternoon.
3) I have lost interest in all things that I used to find interesting,
concentratefeel totally unmotivated.
4) When I absolutely must get my act together, I find it hard to
otherand any silly little thing becomes a challenge. Generally, I sense an
underlying train of thought which draws my attention away into so many
particulardirections that I eventually don't actually manage to stop on any
cornerthought.
5) I have tension headaches nearly all the time, sometimes worse.
6) I have experienced ringing in the ears for no apparent reason.
7) When I am tired I catch dark objects moving rapidly by me with the
in myof my eye, I know this is in my mind.
8) On very few occasions I have heard a clear resonating voice briefly
compulsionhead, as though someone was about to say something.
9) Sometimes when I am standing close to danger, I feel a strange
bytowards it, and I find myself talking myself out of it; this is followed
don'tan adrenaline rush and a sense of relief.
10) I spend so many hours every day doing absolutely nothing because I
thathave the energy; I tend to wait for a brief moment of explosiveness so
to,I can cram mountains of work into a short time (I still don't manage to
catch up on things anyway).
11) I have an anxiety problem.
12) Mood swings.
I know I should be talking with a specialist about this, and I intend
donehowever, I am not sure how to approach my GP about this; I have always
anxietymy utmost to show a solid presence of mind. My doctor is aware of my
myproblem and physical condition but I haven't felt comfortable discussing
some offeelings further. I suppose I want to know if anyone here recognises
introducethe stuff I am experiencing so that I know how bad it is and what to
expect... I have a relatively new doctor and I am not sure how to
doctor...).my concerns to him (... by the way I think I am loosing my mind
Thanks in advance,
Hiya and welcome.
Yup, I can say you have all (and a few more) symptoms of depression.
If you're unsure of how to approach your GP, print a copy of your
posting and show them it. It pretty much explains what your feeling, so
they can discuss more about how to treat you.
Good luck and take care.
Al
