Er, because basically I do like it but it has a slight problem with

What tends to happen is that the latest version of any piece of software
gets rolled into the next version of the distribution. So for an easy
life, your updated Evo will be in Ubuntu 11.04 which should be released
around the end of April.

But then you would have to decide whether it was worth a complete
re-install to sort something that is surmountable in other ways.

Sylpheed and/or Kmail would be my recommendations if you simply want to
do email. And what else would you want an email client to do? ;-)

Do you mind?!!! I can't keep up with the list of things to try out but
I've noted the names. That's the drawback of learning something new, you
don't know what you like until you've tried it and that takes a lot of
time, even if it is interesting. I usually end up wanting bits of this and
bits of that. :-)

That's part of the fun of Linux.

When I get my new laptop I will go back to using
Windows 7 most of the time, and Outlook. I know a lot of people hate it
but I'm used to it, I know where everything is and how to access it
quickly. I will still continue to use Linux in my spare time and on rainy
days and midweek Sundays <g>

All sounds good to me. Stick with what you are comfortable with. Although
I'm surprised you can't find something better than Outlook ;-)

I've long since given up trying to get people to change to Linux, although
I'm more than willing to help anyone who wants to try it. Keep using it in
your spare time and you might yet become a full time convert, but if you
don't, hey, you'll have experienced both sides of the coin.
