Why are we still here?

Everything ready, just needed a bottle of milk and some diesel in the 4x4 so
off we went and bought the necessary. On the way from the garage we stopped
at Grandson's house to deliver card and pressy for him to keep till Friday
when Khyle, great-grandson, is one - doesn't time fly?
While Ray was out of the 4x4 I mixed two PK's and drank them cos I was
hurting a bit. OK, a lot!
Then we set off home to get the caravan. Hadn't got more that a few yards
before I started to say something to Ray and the turning of my head caused
weird problems. Breathing out was fine but breathing in was next to
impossible! Ray stopped the car in the hopes he could help but there was
nothing he could do for me. I spent ages gasping for breath between ever
such loud coughing over which I had no control.
Opened the car and got out, the fresh, cold air made things a little better
and I bent and leaned on the seat I'd vacated.
Still couldn't breathe in properly and was making some queer noises as I
tried to. Then I realised I must have had another repair while I was waiting
for Ray that I hadn't noticed. I felt my throat (still coughing!) and found
my windpipe was too far to the left, not in the middle at all. As I slowly
pushed it back towards centre I found breathing in became easier and slowly
but surely I stopped coughing on the outward breaths.
I guess my silly brain thought it would line up ear-nose-throat later. It
had started with the ear bit - I had asked Ray on the way to the garage what
the noise was I could hear in the vehicle, a noise I hadn't heard before. We
decided my hearing had had a sudden repair.
But moving the windpipe wasn't the thing to do till it got the nose/throat
in the right places! Eating my tea tonight I had to find a different way to
swallow because it didn't go to the right place when I swallowed in the way
I always have.
To put it mildly it was a little disconcerting and we decided hooking up the
caravan and waltzing off up the motorway was not the ideal thing to do, we
*both* needed to recover first!
So we're going with Plan B, it's Wednesday we're going to Carlisle!
