Isn't it illegal for a vehicle to park on the pavement?
I thought the police were not allowed to break the law to try and
enforce laws. :/

If all private cars that were parked on the pavements regularly overnighr were taken
off the roads and crushed I reckon that there would only be about 30% of the number of
vehicles left to drive. That'd solve loads of congestion problems but leave local
councils and and government with very serious underfunding.

Good! It'd make the roads less congested. :-)

Speaking as I find things, in my area that would be classed as racist (to have cars
crushed, and pick on mobile phone drivers). At any one time and particularly outside the
school (just down the road) it is the norm to see parents break at least 4 traffic laws in
an 800yd stretch of road. Unfortunately most of them are black, asian, or imigrant.
Thats not saying they are the worst offenders its just proportionate to the kids that
attend the school, whats most annoying is I know as soon as 'little johnny' or 'little
mingeetah' gets run over there will be a public outcry and petitions will be waved in
front of everyone who uses the piece of road as it will be classed as dangerous.

The only danger on the roads are the parents themselves.
