I would go into that group and have a look at maybe a around 7 daysWhy don't you ask in the virginmedia.support.broadband.cableI thought of that but i wanted to begin to understand it a bit more
newsgroup with some trace routes plus your username, then the
support bods might be able to assist as they can check your modem
from their end.
so i know questions to ask and perhaps have already done some basic
investigation
of posts to see if you might be in an area that others are
complaining about.
The support lot usually ask for a tracert to bbc.co.uk (no www in
front of it) and your modem logs from http://192.168.100.1 to have a
look at your downstream and upstream power levels etc..
They might also ask you to remove any routers that you have connected
and try your connection with the PC directly connected to your Cable
Modem.
I have been using Blueyonder/Virgin for years and have approached the
support groups before so i know of their simultaneous downloads etc
etc and to be honest i dont usually come away from there with a
problem solved so i asked in the PUB ie here. If i cant undo a nut i
could probably go to a Nasa Scientist for the reason but if i truly
want to get an answer i can understand i go down the pub and ask Mick
the mechanic, i generally get a better "Understanding" from him.
I hear your advice and thanks.

Love your logic Len.
